Bring a few extra pesos on these tours. Their exchange rate seemed different from the current one, and the shopping stop on the Chichen itza trip is fun and worth having extra cash for. I did the Sian ka’an float tour with Omar and loved it. It was a small group, the food was excellent, and Omar was friendly, knowledgeable, accommodating, and full of insider information. The next day I went on the Chichén itz’a tour with Christian. That was another excellent small-group outing, and Christian was friendly, funny, and knowledgeable. The food was great, and the cenote was amazing and less crowded than it looks. Definitely worth the money.

I left some handmade art that I'd bought on the cenote tour, and they got it safely back to me the next day. These people were honest and kind, and I felt safe with them and on the tour. It was beautiful and exciting, definitely recommend it. Well worth it!

I had a blast on this tour. The guides were great and paid us lots of attention. Abraham led our group and is clearly passionate about Mayan culture and the ecosystem.

Really fun tour, I went on the AM Mayan Adventure and had no complaints. Pick-up was easy, just be on time, and the day at the park went smoothly. Julio was amazingggg!! Lunch was good, the drinks were too, and it was a great price for what you get.

We saw two beautiful birds perched high in a huge nest made from twigs and plastic. It was a sad reminder of how much plastic reaches even this lovely protected area. The Sian Kaan Deluxe boat tour last week was wonderful, though. Abraham, our guide, spoke English and German among other languages, and was engaging, knowledgeable, and lots of fun. The boat ride through the lush lagoons was beautiful. We stopped to see a crocodile just under the water, then went out into the open water and saw graceful dolphins and a big white turtle about 24 inches across. It felt special to see them in their natural habitat, and not support animals being kept in captivity. After snorkeling near the reef, we had lunch in Punta Alen, a small village. Nothing fancy, just a simple rice and chicken or fish meal with salad, served by lovely people in a very clean place. We walked around the village, then got back in the boat and swam at a lovely beach with pure sand, where we toasted Mexico. Sian Kaan is a remarkable UNESCO World Heritage site, with 780,000 acres, and shouldn't be missed if you love being out on a boat in the open. The company was excellent about life jackets and safety while snorkeling. My husband is taking our two kids this week because I enjoyed it so much. I highly recommend the trip.
