Lucky Traveler Hostel

Even if hostels aren't usually your thing, this one is worth considering since they also have private rooms at a good price. The bedrooms were tidy and cleaned every day, and for the price, you get a lot at the lucky traveler. Everyone on staff was so friendly and happy to help with whatever you needed. We spent a week here and had a really good time. The concept is interesting, and my girlfriend and I managed to use all our credit :)) The food was very good and could be customized, though it varied a little from day to day depending on the cook. Cocktails were made really well. The staff were helpful, and a big shout out to Toni. Raul, the manager, stays on top of things and sorts problems out quickly. The location is good for visiting the ruins or public beach, and it keeps you out of the middle of downtown Tulum’s craziness.

For the price, it’s a nice place: the room was okay, the food was good, and bikes were free. The one big downside was nonstop, really loud music from 9am to 11pm. We ended up buying earplugs and wore them during the day as well as at night. If random music all day isn’t your thing, bring earplugs. Apart from that, we liked the place.

I stayed in a dorm for 10 days in January 2019, and I’d happily come back. It’s a lovely mix of hostel atmosphere and all inclusive, close to the best beaches in Tullum and only 20 pesos from the center. I’d recommend it if you want to relax, meet people, and not have to think about groceries. Big thanks to Lenka, Kenny, Raul, and all the staff. See you soon :)
