Lychee Tulum Hotel

The rooms were perfectly clean, and the location worked really well, close to everything but away from the crowds. Staff were lovely, and the pool was great. I'd read earlier reviews saying breakfast wasn't good, but it seems to have improved a lot. It was now genuinely good and filling. I'd recommend the hotel and definitely want to return.

At first the hotel seemed fantastic, with great rooms, a cool pool, a welcoming staff, and everything looking very new. After a few days, though, we were frustrated by several things. There were loads of mosquitoes, including around a high bathroom area they hadn't cleaned where they were breeding. We also saw bloody spots around the rooms. Breakfast was awful: supermarket muffins, bad fruit, and rusty spoons. Honestly, it would've been better not to include it. Staff kept changing, four different people in four days, which made it hard to stick to agreements. One of our shirts went missing after the room was cleaned, and the staff didn't seem to care.

Really nice little hotel, and since it's so new, everything is well built. The small pool in the middle was great for a dip after diving, cenotes, and the beach. Food was okay, continental, nothing to complain about, and the staff were really nice. I'd give it five stars if it weren't for small ants that kept showing up in different parts of the room. They sprayed when asked. Good value for money.

The neighborhood isn't especially fancy, but there's a cheap minimarkt around the corner, and it's near the center and bus station. They also rent good bikes. The owners are lovely and the staff super friendly. It's clean and safe, with everything you need, including airco, a great shower, a make-up mirror, and a minibar/minifridge. We loved the pool too.
