Playa Xcanan Tulum

The room opened right onto the beach, with a stunning view, and breakfast arrived on our terrace. It felt like a dream. Fabio and his team were the most caring hosts I’ve met, always going above and beyond to make us happy. The hotel feels authentic and genuine, with good values. We loved it.

We fell asleep with the door open to the sound of the ocean and woke just in time for sunrise from our beachfront room. The bungalows are lovely, with comfortable beds, warm water, and a really good breakfast. There’s no restaurant at the hotel right now, but lots nearby. Rosanegra has great food and a really fun atmosphere. The hotel sits in the middle of the hotel zone, right on a beautiful beach with palm trees and hammocks. There’s nighttime security to keep people coming in from the beach off the property. Fabio is incredibly welcoming and makes this place special. It was a highlight of my time in Tulum, and I’d definitely stay again.

We’ve visited Tulum three times now, but this was our first stay at Playa Xcanan. We wanted somewhere that still felt true to Tulum’s laid back lifestyle, despite how much the area has changed in recent years, and this was exactly that. It’s quiet and relaxed, with the friendliest staff. From the cleaning lady and breakfast team to Fabio, the owner, everyone seemed genuinely happy to be there and greeted us with a real smile. We highly recommend it and will be back!

I spent a week here and was blown away by the experience. The location is hard to beat, close to the beach as well as the best restaurants and bars. Fabio and the staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly. Whenever I had a question or needed something, like getting clothes washed, they made sure it was taken care of. Can’t wait to come back.
