Hotel Citadin Veramar

The employees were all so friendly and attentive that they made our stay more enjoyable. They deserve congratulations. The manager, though, was a huge letdown: rude and despotic, with an attitude that seemed at odds with life. His neurosis was obvious just looking at him, and he felt completely out of place with such a nice group of staff. You'd think he'd be sent packing. The hotel itself is modest, but good value and worth a visit when you're in Tuxpan. A HUGE thumbs down for the manager.

I come here often, and the owner is very friendly and explains things clearly. The rooms have air conditioning. I do wish the pool had lights or heating at night, and that it stayed open later.

The rooms are worn and need maintenance, and the bathroom door won't close. For what they charge, the service they promise isn't there. Breakfast runs from 8 to 10, but I arrived at 10:03 and they wouldn't serve me.

The rooms leave a lot to be desired, and the bathroom is awful. The toilet tank took hours to fill, so I asked for a bucket. They told me to fill it from the shower. The staff were kind, but honestly, it's not worth the price. The one good thing is the location by the lake, with a nice view and the beach very close.
