We picked this place as a stop to rest on our way from Oaxaca, but there was loud music and shouting all night. I asked reception twice after 11 pm if they could turn it down. They said the noisy people were the owner’s family, and the receptionist seemed afraid her job would be at risk if she called the owner. Cleaning was okay, though the bathroom could use work. The furniture is pretty dated, even by Mexican standards.

The place itself is nice, but the cockroaches in the villa and the way staff handled our complaints ruined the stay. We reported the insects several times and were ignored. Then an expensive Tehuana dress disappeared from my aunt’s room without her consent. It took hours to get it back, and even after checking the cameras, staff kept denying it. My sister in law, who had made the reservation, kept insisting they review the footage until they found the person who took it. We’ll be back in Tuxtepec soon, but definitely won’t stay at this hotel again. The staff need training and closer monitoring.

The stay was good and reasonably priced. After checkout, the front desk ladies kindly kept an eye on my luggage. I also ate at the restaurant out back and liked it, though service was a bit slow with just one waiter.
