The hotel's decor is almost museum quality, and the buffet is decent, though nothing special. For the price, and being in Michoacan, I expected better food. My mattress was rock hard, and there was no phone to call room service or electrical outlet for charging phones. There was a lot of noise at night, from the hotel's washing machine running late and a marching band practicing outside.

Cuco, their parot, is very friendly. It was a bit strange having them park the car for you 10 minutes away, but everything was fine. I'd recommend it.

Downtown is a plus, with lots of artesanias Mexicans, and there are plenty of cameras, so I feel it's somewhat secure. But our first room was dirty, and the next one we were moved to had no lock. My husband was so disappointed. When I went to the front desk, they told us those were all the rooms they had. There was no laundry room, despite what was posted online. There is no elevator, and the rooms are all the way up on the third floor. With a lot of luggage it's a workout, but without much luggage you'll be fine.

The rooms are a good deal, and the hotel has lovely decor. Everyone working there was friendly, too. My one issue was the street noise at night, with buses passing by clearly audible from inside.
