Beautiful place, right beside the site, which made getting around easy. The restaurant food was really good too.

We were there in rainy season, with almost nobody else around, and the whole stay felt magical. The staff were kind and attentive. Rex the concierge welcomed us warmly and shared a couple of insights. Our room was big enough for the three of us, and the next morning we had breakfast on the terrace overlooking Uxmal.

For seeing Uxmal and nearby places over a night or two, The Lodge worked well. It's an easy walk to the archaeological site, and having a car would be useful if you're staying longer or going beyond Uxmal since transport is limited. Our room was roomy, with a large bathroom, TV, and refrigerator. It was decently clean, though there was room for improvement. Staff were helpful and friendly, and breakfast was good. There are two big pools; they were almost empty during our visit, which made for a relaxed atmosphere.

Being directly across from Uxmal was the only real plus. We booked the main hotel, then were moved to The Lodge on arrival, and the place felt badly dated. Our room was worn, with a refrigerator so loud it sounded like a car idling. The shower was lukewarm with almost no pressure, and the “shampoo” was more like diluted soap. It didn't feel comfortable or good quality. The pool was dirty and full of leaves. Wi-Fi barely worked in the room, which isn't acceptable at this price. At check-in, we got no information and had to figure everything out ourselves. The staff spoke very little English. We found the experience short on hospitality, and the price wasn't justified. Definitely not recommended.
