Hotel Tunich Naj & Hostal

We'd stay here again. The pool was clean, and our room was huge, with a TV, a spacious bathroom, and air conditioning. It looked dated and the bathroom looked dirty, though it was fine. We were in a room by reception that didn't look like the one we'd booked, and there was no drinking water available. The restaurant prices struck me as silly and the service wasn't great. That's subjective, and I still feel that way. I had also said the hotel was a bit far from the center, but I confused it with another similarly named place. You're right, the hotel is downtown.

The garden was nice, and there was a very sweet kitten. I was told on arrival that payment had to be in cash, which was annoying since Booking.com already has card details and could surely take payment that way. The place seems to be changing from a hostel into something fancier. The room was decent and had a hot shower, though some things felt old and due for an update, especially the AC. There was construction downstairs, with workers shouting during the day, so it wasn't very relaxing.

Good location. The place is small, including the communal area, but it's nice. There's a pool, though we didn't use it. The shared dorm has a few bunks and some single beds, so I think whether you get a single bed is just luck.

We had a double room that was very clean and had everything we needed, including a good shower and efficient air conditioning. The beds were comfortable, and the service was super friendly. It's really close to the plaza.
