Hotel Valladolid

The little adjoining restaurant was a great place for breakfast, and the hotel was a very pleasant stay. It's directly across from the bus station and seemed more affordable than hotels around the central plaza. I'm not really a fan of touristy Valladolid, but I'd come back here if I had the chance. The building is older, yet very clean and well maintained. Staff were exceedingly friendly. The wide halls and entrance foyer have tables, chairs, and a couple of couches that nobody else seemed to use. I was in Room 18A and thought it was wonderfully quiet, though two nearby dogs barked and were lively on two of my three nights. Management couldn't really control that. There was plenty of hot water, which can be uncertain in Mexico.

Being right beside the ADO station was a big help throughout our stay, and the place was clean. We arrived around 1 a.m.; the younger of the two men working there helped carry our luggage upstairs, showed us the room, checked that we were comfortable, and even offered to find somewhere for us to eat. He was still there in the morning and gave us a map with detailed directions he'd drawn by hand when we asked where to go. They don't really speak English, and we don't really speak Spanish, but they made a real effort to communicate and Google Translate filled the gaps. We felt safe and comfortable. It doesn't have the feel of some higher-end places, but we enjoyed the open-air layout and atmosphere. It could suit budget travelers after an authentic experience. I'd recommend booking a room with AC; the popular booking sites all included it when we looked. Hot water wasn't certain: we had it on two of three nights, but the water was cool rather than freezing when it wasn't hot. You can hear the ADO station in the morning, though it wasn't loud enough to wake us and didn't get busy until around 8, when we were already up. The Wi-Fi worked great, and there were no surprises when we paid.

The room was clean and affordable, and the location was excellent, right in front of the ADO bus terminal. The two women and one man at the front desk always welcomed me with a warm smile and kindly showed me where to go. Definitely the friendliest place. Thank you.

We'd happily book here again. The price was very reasonable, and the hotel was clean, with friendly, helpful staff. Right across from the ADO bus terminal, it also had a pleasant sitting area with tables and chairs for cocktails or snacks. There was a fridge, free coffee, and a place to refill water bottles in the lobby.
