Hotel Casa Henequén

The noise was the worst part: loud music started outside around 7 or 8 p.m. and went on for hours, past midnight. I asked the receptionist what was happening, but she only shrugged and wouldn’t do anything or even seem sympathetic. I don’t know how anyone at the hotel slept that night. The receptionist was also rude beyond any acceptable level, for no clear reason, and refused to give us a blanket. There wasn’t one on the bed, just a thin sheet. The room itself wasn’t great; everything seemed old and smelled bad. That damp or strong cleaning-chemical smell is common in the peninsula, from what I’ve found. This was the second-worst hotel of our Yucatan trip. The worst was another Valladolid place called Gayser. Please avoid this one and go elsewhere. They don’t care about guests and don’t deserve your business.
