Margarett Modern Hotel

A perfect location, very friendly staff, and quite a good breakfast made this a great stay. It’s a really nice choice if you need a place in Valladolid for one night. I’d highly recommend it.

There was a cocoroach in the room. We’d bought breakfast, but all we got was coffee, with no milk or sugar. When we asked for milk, the hotel manager said they were giving it to us for free and that we should be grateful. The hotel is shit. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone unless you want to ruin your trip.

I booked this at the last minute because we needed to stay an extra night. It’s a small boutique hotel with just 10 rooms, right in the center, and everything was clean and well kept. There’s a little pool out back, and the breakfast was included. The AC was so loud that it made falling asleep difficult. The sink was tiny too, with nowhere to put anything. For one night, I could live with that.

That breakfast alone would persuade me to stay again. It was included in the rate and was proper homemade food, not just coffee and pastries: between us we had chilaquiles, enchiladas, omelettes, waffles, and fruit. All of us loved our three nights here, and the small, cozy pool was refreshing. The rooms and common areas were very clean, with thoughtful upgraded touches: ceiling fans, much-needed AC, light-filtering shades, wooden doors, and upscale toilet, sink, and shower fixtures. There’s also a cute resident turtle wandering around. The location is central, about five minutes on foot from the main plaza, cenote Zaci, and calzada de Los frailes. We’d absolutely come back. I HIGHLY recommend this lovely boutique hotel.
