Hotel Boutique Casa Xaan

We were there in early December and would highly recommend it. The room was comfortable and had a roomy bathroom, and the shared kitchen, pool, and jacuzzi were good facilities. It has a really cozy feel, mostly thanks to the attentive, friendly staff. The center might look far away, but it's an easy, safe 15-minute walk. Thanks especially to Mario for all the helpful advice.

We spent one night here on the way from Tulum to Chichen Itza, and at about $70 CAD, it felt like good value. The room had Netflix on the TV and a nice sitting area, and there was a shared kitchen for cooking. The receptionist spoke English well and was friendly, and went out of their way to help when a little gecko showed up in our room at check-in. There's a small pool too, though we didn't try it. The bathroom sink was clogged. Smoke from nearby, maybe from cooking or bonfires, also drifted into the room. It was hard on my family because we have asthma. We used inhalers that night, and had some chest pain the next day. There were also loud music and a few random fireworks overnight, though it seemed like a one-time thing. Keep the surroundings in mind if you have breathing sensitivities. For the price, though, it was still a great deal.

The pool area was clean, and we're surprised this place isn't fully booked. It's a 15-20 minute walk from the main square, but well worth the price. The shower had fantastic pressure, everything was clean, tidy, and modern, and the people running the place were so friendly. If you're visiting Valladolid, we think you should stay here. We'd give it 10 out of 5 if we could.

Such a good find. The garden was neatly kept and the hotel was beautifully put together, with a lovely bathroom and attentive, polite staff. We especially appreciated the tasty coffee and little pastry or toast before heading out to the ruins. Walking into town in 40C heat was a bit much, though I imagine it's easier in cooler weather. We loved the place.
