Oriundo Luxury Nature Villas

The resort is about 5 km from Valladolid, close enough to reach by taxi. The town itself is lovely as a stop on the way to Chichen Itza, around 40 km away. At Oriundo, I loved the peaceful atmosphere and our spacious villa, decorated with local crafts. We had an early morning exclusive visit to the cenote next to the hotel, then tried the Mayan coffee experience. Breakfast at Mestizo restaurant inside the compound was savory, and the cordial staff helped make the stay memorable.

We especially enjoyed the zipline, pool, private cinoté, bike ride, and food. The amenities were superb and the service went beyond what we expected. We had an incredible time at this stunning location and will definitely return.

There are only seven villas, and the staff were very attentive. We loved the free minibar, the private cenote hour, and the great breakfast. Extras were reasonably priced, too. It felt like a truly luxurious stay, and I’d recommend it. A few things weren’t so good: the air conditioning was quite loud, the allotted hot water wasn’t enough to fill the hot tub comfortably, and the cowboy steak at dinner wasn’t very good.

We checked in a few days ago expecting a five-star hotel, but we wouldn’t come back. The restaurant food was mediocre, and when we asked at reception the next morning about the stained sheet, nobody seemed to know what had happened. We didn’t get an apology from reception or management. I noticed a blood stain on the top sheet when I pulled back the covers to go to bed, so I thought the sheets might not have been changed. There are no working phones in the room, so I had to WhatsApp the concierge, Alberto. He took photos, changed the dirty sheets, and said he’d report it and investigate.
