Eating breakfast in the courtyard, surrounded by lush plants and birdsong, was a highlight for us. The buffet is simple, with breads and cereal, plus eggs made to order. The kids also loved cooling off in the refreshing pool. We were a family of four, two adults and two children, staying for two nights in late April. Maria and her colleagues were so warm and welcoming, and the hotel has a lot of charm, from its immaculate exterior to the beautiful interior filled with Mexican folk art and century-old character. Our room with two double beds was off the lobby, yet very quiet, with hardly any street or lobby noise. The beds were comfortable and the A/C worked well. It’s an easy, safe walk to the town center square, with good restaurants nearby. We’d recommend this special hotel.

We left wishing we could have stayed longer. The team were so kind and attentive to what guests needed, and the breakfast and delicious mezcalitas were a treat. The hotel is beautifully decorated and full of nature, with a peaceful, secluded feel. One of the best experiences we had on our trip to Mexico. Thank you all!

This was our third stay at Posada San Juan, and we’ve never been disappointed. The whole property is beautiful, the rooms are nicely appointed, it’s exceptionally clean, and it stays very quiet. To my taste, it’s perfect. The staff are genuinely welcoming and helpful, and breakfast in the morning is excellent. It’s an easy walk to Valladolid’s main plaza, and a little farther to the Convent via Calz. de Los Frailes, where there are plenty of restaurants and shops. The hotel can also arrange guides for day trips to places like Río Lagartos for pink flamingos, Chichén Itzá, and the hotel’s private cenote. I recommend a Superior Room in the second building. Five stars out of five, with special thanks to Sr. Poot for his hospitality.

Breakfast was great, with a buffet, eggs cooked to order, and make-your-own cafetiere coffee available anytime, handy when jetlag had us up early. They also make a mean mescalita. This was the best place we stayed on our trip. We spent four nights in a classic king room in the annexe behind La Esquina Cafe. It was airy and comfortable, with a semi-open bathroom. The first floor veranda had outdoor seats overlooking lush gardens and a small swimming pool. It’s a few minutes’ walk from Valladolid’s main sights, including the main square, Calle de los Frailes, and bee park.

A beautiful, relaxing oasis in charming Valladolid, with a lovely property, comfortable rooms, and warm, helpful staff. The home-cooked breakfast and traditional style were great, and the location was handy. We loved it and will be back.
