The reception staff provided good customer service, but the rooms weren’t in the best condition. The shower curtains and sheets were old and worn, and the mattress in room #2 was in terrible shape. They moved me to a more comfortable room, but I was very disappointed that I couldn’t sleep that first night. They also tried to charge an extra fee for making the reservation. They didn’t charge me after I refused, but that’s something they should explain when quoting the accommodation.

The family room was very comfortable, and I loved the place. It’s rustic and cozy, cheap, and perfectly adequate for what my family and I needed. We spent most of our time out wandering, so we barely used the hotel or its TV. There’s only one TV, and you can’t see it well from all the beds. The mattresses do need replacing. There’s also a really cool log table, great for hanging out over a few beers.

The staff are really friendly, and there’s hot water and an exercise machine. It’s a simple, cozy, inexpensive place with a cabin feel, though there may be dust on the furniture. It isn’t luxurious, but it works well for backpacking and is just three blocks from the garden.
