The setting is nice and we liked the food, though service could have been better. During happy hour they charged us full price for the margaritas, and some dishes came without items the menu said they included. Check the receipt before you pay.

Breakfast was a lovely experience, and the rest of our stay was just as good. We arrived late the night before and were warmly welcomed with a glass of delicious wine. After the shift changed, another young man immediately helped us to our room and confirmed the massage we had booked for the next morning.

The hacienda architecture and views make for a really relaxing setting, and everyone on staff was kind and welcoming. I’ve eaten here twice now, though, and both times I came away disappointed by the food. It seems aimed more at American tastes, and the flavor and authenticity weren’t there. This time we came to avoid an hour’s wait at Doña Estela, but then waited almost an hour here for bland chilaquiles. Three of us ordered them and none of us finished. The Americano I requested was just regular filtered coffee, and salsa didn’t do much to improve the food. If you’re staying at the hotel or mainly want the atmosphere and scenery, it may suit you. For a memorable meal in Valle, there are better places nearby.

They greeted us with a glass of wine, and the hotel is close to some great vineyards. It’s a beautiful place with all the amenities.
