The spot was fantastic for getting around, with the river walk and historic district both an easy walk away and well worth seeing. The house itself was comfortable and had the basics covered, though staying in the owners' home felt a little awkward to me. The hostel name wasn't on the outside door, and I didn't feel like using their kitchen. As someone who enjoys cooking, that was a letdown.

Sarah made the place feel like home, with her warm smile and lovely laugh. The beds were comfortable, and sheets and towels were included. The bathroom and shower were really nice, and the kitchen had everything, plus more. There’s plenty of cheap, good food around town, too. It can be hard to find, so booking ahead is a good idea. Great location!

Fernando and Maria made me feel at home, and I was sorry to leave such a peaceful place. The location was perfect, the house was clean, there was hot water, and the kitchen had everything I needed. Thanks for it all.

The beds weren't quite comfortable for me, but I had a great stay otherwise. It's a small hostel, and everyone I met was nice. I felt safe walking to and from town after dark, and the owners gave me a key for coming and going after hours. I also met another solo traveler and we traveled together for a while. The owners invited me to join them and some family members on Pico de Orizaba the day after I arrived, which was a great time. I'd stay again!

We were there for two days and no one welcomed us or even introduced themselves as the hosts. A neighbour let us in, and the whole atmosphere felt awkward. It felt like someone's house, not a hostel. The room was tiny with four beds and little secure storage, and the owners' stuff was left in the living area. The door key didn't work, either. I couldn't understand the praise in earlier reviews or on the walls. It wasn't worth the price, and a cheap hotel would be a better choice. I left my powerbank behind and asked, for a fee, if they could send it on to Oaxaca. They first said yes, but after more than two weeks of repeatedly asking for an update, I gave up. Worst place I've stayed in Mexico.
