The staff were so friendly and helpful. Thanks to Lupita, Amanda, and the whole team for making us comfortable and relaxed. They made breakfast fresh every morning, with a choice of a more traditional Mexican dish or things like pancakes and eggs, plus fresh fruit, juice, and excellent Oaxacan coffee. From the pool area we saw whales out at sea, and the property has beautiful views. Our room was spacious and had good A/C and fans, and the property was clean. It's about a five minute walk down a fairly steep path to town and the beach. There's also a road that's easier to walk, though it takes around five minutes longer. A great place to stay when visiting Puerto Angel.

The fresh breakfast was a highlight, different each day and served from 9 to 11am. Casa Rush doesn't serve other meals, so if you arrive late, get food before reaching San Angel, especially on a Sunday when choices can be limited. We had a very nice stay. Staff responded quickly to requests, and the team clearly tries to make guests comfortable. Most staff speak only Spanish, but Google Translate helped; manager Mauricio was friendly, enjoyed chatting with guests, and speaks English. The hotel is on a hill. There is parking inside the property for rental cars, and the large gate has a bell string. After arrival, you'll get a key to let yourself in. The pool is a nice feature, and the poolside common areas have great views, though sometimes the pool is treated with chemicals or closed during prime swimming hours. It might work better to do that overnight. There are plenty of places to dry laundry. Rooms vary in size and location around the complex. I can only speak for ours, which was probably the largest, with some view of the marina, a big king bed, and four single beds, enough for a large family. Some rooms are small. There was no safe, but the doors can be secured with your own lock from inside and outside if that makes you more comfortable. San Angel is a small town, about ten minutes downhill from the hotel via the back door and a staircase with 63 steps. We enjoyed street food, ice cream, pancakes, and just watching people go about their day. The marina and its beach are also walkable by the back stairs. Nearby Panteon beach has relatively calm water and decent snorkeling. There is another group of little coves in the other direction, which you might be able to reach on foot. I believe Playa Estacahuite is the name. When I was there, though, the water had trash in it. You'll need transportation for the other beaches. We had a rental car, but driving was challenging, with narrow winding roads, mopeds zipping past, and lots of speed bumps. Most of the other beaches have big waves. My favorite was San Augustinillo, because I loved the restaurant La Ola. The food was great, and the umbrellas and loungers are free if you eat or order drinks there. All in all, a great experience with the hotel and location.

The view from the hotel is breathtaking, and the beach area and “downtown” are only a 2-3 minute walk downhill. Puerto Angel is an authentic little Mexican town. The hotel pays attention to the small details, and it's a great place to stay. Mauricio, the owner, can arrange a dolphin tour, which I really recommend. We saw lots of dolphins and sea turtles, and even a whale.

The location and views are stunning, the pool is nice, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. Still, the owner made me uncomfortable on a few occasions, and it didn't feel very professional. I wouldn't recommend this place to women traveling alone. There was a dance party above our room, which wasn't relaxing, and the shower pressure was basically nonexistent.

We could walk to the little harbor, shops, and restaurants, and there was plenty of parking right at the hotel. The pool was superb, and breakfast was traditional, served in a pleasant open area. Our room was plain but comfortable, with a spacious, clean bathroom. The staff were kind, attentive, and quick to help. We also spoke with the manager by phone to make sure we understood each other clearly. Great value in Puerto Angel, and we’d gladly recommend it.
