Bello Veracruz Hotel

I spent 10 days here and had no complaints. It felt safe and welcoming, and there was always someone around to help if your Spanish isn’t very good. The rooms were spotless, the food was fresh and good, and the internet was fast. Everyone was friendly and helpful, including the front desk, which was happy to arrange taxis or help with anything else.

The cleaning and reception staff were friendly, but the rooms were awful. The bathroom had dirt, mold, and rust everywhere, and the pool area looked as if it hadn’t been cleaned in ages. The mattress was cheap and hard as a rock. There was no fridge, the safe didn’t work, and the WiFi barely worked. The TV had not one international channel. It was noisy all the time, with the wind rattling against the terribly cheap windows. I couldn’t sleep. How did this place get four stars? It felt like a one-star hotel or worse. It isn’t worth more than $20. I’d say stay away and do yourself a favor. Never again.

I haven’t stayed at the hotel, but I’ve had the breakfast buffet, and it’s outstanding. There isn’t as much variety as at some other hotel restaurants, but everything they do serve is delicious. The grill chef can make whatever you ask for in a moment. On weekdays, women pay under 100 pesos, which is pretty cheap for a buffet with unlimited coffee and juice.

I was there for a course my family member was taking in the ballroom. Veracruz gets very hot, but the AC worked really well, and the food was delicious. Service overall was pretty good.
