The outside is pretty, and the hotel is a good choice if you want to walk by the river and enjoy nature. It’s out of town, though, and there isn’t really anything nearby. Our room was small, with one little chair for three people, and the bed wasn’t comfortable. We visited in January, and the top of the door didn’t meet the ceiling, so the room was as cold as outside. The towels and sheets were ripped. The bathroom had hot water. It was okay, but I wouldn’t stay again.

There are lots of lovely walks from here, across and along the river. It’s beautiful and meditative, and the setting is a big part of what makes this a fine hotel. The staff are kind, and they’re tolerant of small dogs, yay. Guests do talk loudly here, even after midnight.

A basic, clean hotel, but there was no wifi. We arrived just after 7:15 on Sunday night and the restaurant was closing. The bathroom was tiny; I hit my head on the towel rail, and when you shower, water covers the whole floor.
