The owners really went out of their way to make sure I was happy, and I loved my stay. My room was spacious, with a small balcony, kitchen, and bathroom. Everything was clean and in good shape, the bed was huge and comfortable, and nights were quiet. A few good, inexpensive restaurants are just around the corner, along with a little shop that has what you need for a short stay. The surrealistic castle is only five minutes away. I'd recommend an English guide, which costs 25 pesos more, because the group is usually much smaller. I'll definitely come back when I'm in Xilitla again.

The place itself was nice, but I had to park in a vacant lot a few blocks away. A disagreement about an overpayment escalated into the owner blocking me in and saying I couldn't leave unless I told booking dot com that I'd lied about being overcharged. I was stuck for almost an hour. It ended when a friend I'd made in town arrived with some friends and helped defuse things, after which the owner let me go.

The beds were comfortable, the place was clean, and they provided drinking water, coffee, tea, and ice. The owners were really nice too. Its location works well if you're visiting las posas or the nearby cave. There are lots of narrow steps in this plainly non-engineered building, and parking is nearly nonexistent, just three spaces for ten or twelve bedrooms. There were lots of mosquitoes, no screens or AC, and it was a bit noisy with a pub and the main road right outside. For MX$300 more per night, you can get a quieter place with a pool and plenty of parking.
