OYO Hotel El Campanario

Loved the relaxed feel here. It felt like being at home, with lots of freedom and plenty to see and visit nearby.

The service was excellent, but the hotel itself is very small and seems quite old. You can hear everything from the hallway and neighboring rooms through the drywall. The bathroom leaked and wasn't usable, and the towels were scarce and in poor condition. The beds weren't great, though I still slept well. There are hotels at the same price that are in better shape.

The rooms are pretty average, but the staff are very attentive, especially Mrs. Lupita. Thanks to her for being so kind and helpful from the time we made the reservation. The nightly rate is good, so if you're visiting the city and will be out all day, this is a decent place just to sleep. I'd call the small hotel okay overall.

The staff were friendly, but they never sorted out our towel problem. We arrived to find no toilet paper or towels, and they gave us just one towel for three people. The bathroom was clean, though the toilet was filthy. Furniture was old and battered, and you could feel the mattress springs. Maybe prices were up because it was high season, but it still felt expensive for what we got.
