Hotel La Estancia Zacatlan

The atmosphere is very peaceful, and the simple rooms are clean and nice, with comfortable beds. The staff were extremely friendly and explained the payment choices and room options as soon as we arrived. The showers are quite small and the water pressure is low. It’s about a six-minute walk to the center, up a slightly steep slope, but taking it slowly makes it manageable.

It’s near the center, and the service is quiet, but the rooms are small haha. There was a bathroom window facing the hallway, and I nearly had a heart attack when I noticed it haha.

The location is central, but the room made it hard to get comfortable or sleep well. The bathroom is cramped, and the humidity has rusted the shower and light. There’s no fan or window in there, and leaving the door open just lets the smell spread into the room. The only airflow comes from a sliding glass door to an air shaft, but with another room right beside it, keeping that door open isn’t really an option. There was also a lot of noise and partying from the next door guests. Even after complaints, the staff didn’t say anything to them. It feels like a two star place for passing through, and even sleeping was difficult.

Clean rooms and a handy spot near the city center, so you can get around on foot. A solid budget stay.
