Villas del Vigia

The ocean view was pretty, but it didn’t make up for the villa we got. I booked a two-bedroom villa specifically because the website pictures said it came with an ocean-view pool. In person, the villa was completely different, and they hadn’t disclosed that. The supposed pool was a square on the balcony, only two feet tall and about the size of a small hot tub. When I complained, all they did was say they’d tell their supervisor. I wouldn’t recommend this place, and I wouldn’t stay here again. Don’t trust the website pictures.

The views of Zihuatanejo, Mexico Bay were awesome. The service was stellar and the food amazing.

The place is beautiful and well maintained, with very good security at the gates. From up here you get an unbelievable view that stretches around Zihuatanejo harbour to Playa Largo. But the height means you can’t walk back and forth to the beach, and no Combis come this far up the hill. You’re limited to taxis, around $120 pesos or more each way. A rental car would make sense unless you plan to have a drink. We’d stay at a lower elevation next time, like on earlier visits to Zihua. There’s also construction going on six days a week, from 8 am to 6 pm, for two new apartment condo buildings.

Villas del Vigía in Zihuatanejo made for a dream vacation, and we can’t wait to return. The private pool was a lovely way to relax, and the staff looked after every need with warmth and professionalism. Each villa felt thoughtfully designed, with a comfortable, luxurious feel and lovely attention to detail. The property itself is stunning, with breathtaking ocean views and lush surroundings. It exceeded all our expectations.
