The location worked so well for us, just steps from the beach and close to everything we needed. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. We booked a kitchen room because it would make things easier with the kids, and chose this place especially for the pool. We stayed five days, and our niece and nephew loved swimming there. The owner's reaction took away from all of that. She lives on the property and repeatedly seemed annoyed when the kids played, even though they were respectful and just enjoying themselves. Their mother and her partner stayed at another hotel but came by during the day to visit and cook dinner before leaving again. We signed in every visitor as required and stayed within the policy, but the owner kept making an issue of it, saying there were too many people and reminding us she owned the place. She didn't seem to mind other guests using the pool or having visitors. As a Black family, we felt her attitude toward us was noticeably different, targeted, and discriminatory. It was upsetting to feel unwelcome while using amenities we'd paid for. I'm sad to write this because we tried to focus on the good and enjoy time with the kids, but the owner's behavior nearly ruined our trip. She treated us poorly without any valid reason and showed little basic customer service. We made the best of the stay, but the treatment was unacceptable, and after this experience I'd hesitate to recommend the place to other families, especially Black families.
