El Guayacan

The pool area was a highlight, with a lovely lap pool and laid-back lounge space where people naturally came together. Traveling solo, I appreciated how easy it was to meet others and feel part of a community. El Guayacan is just minutes from the beach, restaurants, cafés, and evening spots, yet set slightly up the hill for peace and privacy. My casita was thoughtfully designed, with quiet A/C, a very comfortable bed, an honor bar, beach essentials, and a beautiful bathroom. The outdoor shower under the stars became one of my favorite parts, and the balcony views over Playa Zipolite were breathtaking. Martti and Fridtjof were warm, present hosts who clearly care about making each stay memorable. Before I arrived, communication was seamless, including useful guidance for getting from the airport to Zipolite. Ricardo greeted me warmly, showed me around, and made sure I felt at home. My week at El Guyacan was magical, restorative, fun, and truly beautiful. Thank you to everyone there. I’ll definitely be back.

We had everything within walking distance, with the beach five minutes away and town a few minutes further. The only downside is that you may never want to leave! We had a wonderful April stay at El Guayacan. Fridtjof was such a friendly, welcoming host and gave us lots of useful information, making sure we had everything we needed. The accommodation was beautiful and felt high quality throughout. Beds were supremely comfortable, kitchen amenities were excellent, and the complimentary organic coffee was delicious. They’d also thought of extras for guests, including yoga mats and sun hats. The clothing-optional pool area was gorgeous. The infinity pool is even better in person, and the loungers were absurdly comfortable with plenty of shade. We didn’t use the communal BBQ, but we made good use of the honesty bar.

The owners make a point of looking after guests themselves, and that warm welcome had us feeling at home straight away. The staff were kind, attentive, and always greeted us with a smile. El Guayacan was a wonderful stay, with lovely rooms and a pool that was perfect for relaxing. We’d gladly return and recommend it for a vacation.

The photos barely capture how beautiful this place is, especially the pool, one of the loveliest I’ve seen. It feels private, yet town is an easy walk away. Our room was comfortable and well stocked, and the staff took wonderful care of us, particularly Ricardo. We’re already looking forward to coming back next year.
