Hotel Rancho San Cayetano

There isn’t much of anything nearby, but the meals were excellent. The property is quiet, with a pool and some animals to see. Staff were helpful and did the cleaning. One thing that needs attention for guests like us: we enjoy strong coffee, even if we have to make it ourselves in the room. The coffee pot shouldn’t be broken, and good coffee should be provided.

The water pressure is really low, and drinking water wasn’t refilled during cleaning. Restaurant prices are high, the menu is limited, service is a little slow, and pizza takes an hour to prepare. The rooms have nicely rustic wood furniture. It’s a nice hotel in a quiet location, but very pricey.

We’d go back to this hotel. We stayed with our four children on a Monarch exploration trip in February, enjoyed the rooms, and everyone said the beds were excellent. The pool was somewhere between warm and cool, neither too warm nor too cool. Dinner was trout or steak every night. It was okay, but not amazing. The bar and drink selection are limited, so bring your own. We brought gluten-free bread and pancake mix, and the kitchen was willing to use them for breakfast and sandwiches.

The kids had a blast in the pool and at the park, and the service was great. The room was so nice, and the facilities and accommodations were superb. Breakfast was fully stocked with fresh-baked rustic bread, sweet breads, homemade marmalades, fresh honey, perfectly ripe fresh fruit, delicious organic coffee, and eggs from their chickens. What a nice getaway.
