Lone Pine Resort

At 155MYR in the off season, this was very good value. The staff were friendly, and the modern rooms were clean and functional. We had a queen-size bed with a good mattress, a desk and chair, plus an armchair with a small table. There was also a balcony overlooking the pool, good WiFi, and a great bathroom with (very) hot water. I’d have given five stars, and we might have stayed longer, if there’d been a mini fridge in the room. It’s hard to believe a hotel of this quality in a tropical country has no fridge. That should be fixed as soon as possible, especially since mini fridges aren’t that expensive. Thank you!

The staff and service were decent, and the room was fairly okay. But I’d mixed this place up with another hotel with a similar name and thought we’d found a good deal. It turned out to be “meh”. There are no lifts, and I had to carry my luggage up two floors. The air conditioning and fan were off on the second floor, so by the time I got there I was sweating like crazy. I’m here for work and dread climbing those stairs after a long day working outdoors. I just wish it had been clearer that there are no lifts and that the room is two floors up.

We had a great time here, despite the bad reviews. Booking through Agoda was smooth, and the receptionist was very nice. They even called because we were an hour late. The usual RM50 deposit was required, and since there were several of us, they suggested an extra mattress for RM30. We took it and slept well. There’s no lift, and the rooms are on level 2, so we packed everything in backpacks after reading the reviews. Parking inside the resort area was easy. Our room was clean, and the bathroom, including the bathtub, was clean and working well. Basic amenities were provided, with hot and cold water. No Monday blues for us, even though we stayed until Monday. The kids had fun in the well-maintained swimming pool. It wasn’t crowded, closed at 7 pm, and you have to wear a swimsuit. If you forget one for a child, I recommend Whatsapping this number, +60104562389, to arrange pickup at the location they give. The swimsuit was cheap but good quality, and they were kind and helpful. There was a dog wandering around, but it didn’t bother any guests and wasn’t an issue for us. We had a great experience and the trip was worth it. We’ll surely come back, and hope they keep maintaining the place.

We really enjoyed our stay. The staff were very friendly, the rooms spacious, and there’s a large swimming pool where you can swim laps or play with your kids. It’s a nice hotel.
