Hotel Centre Point Tampin

I’ve stayed here for over 12 years, but this was my worst visit and I won’t be back. The maintenance has gone downhill. In Room 210, a loud humming pipe noise went on for almost two minutes and started again every 30 seconds all night, so sleeping was impossible. There was no one at the counter after midnight, leaving guests on their own until morning, which I found unacceptable. The next day I asked to move rooms. At first staff said there were no rooms and no refund, but after we argued repeatedly, they suddenly found another room. It hadn’t been cleaned properly and the toilet smelled bad. The water heater there was faulty too. After maintenance said they’d fixed it, there was an exposed cable and a plug held by just one screw in the bathroom. After about 20 minutes of use, the heater gave off a burning rubber smell. We felt unsafe. The service, upkeep, and safety were all poor. I don’t feel this hotel puts guest safety first, and I won’t risk staying here again.

The location is good, but the room conditions and service were very bad. We stayed one night during CNY. I wasn’t expecting five star service, just basic supplies like a towel and hair dryer, and a clean, decent room. We checked in after 3 p.m., but one room looked as if it hadn’t been cleaned for the next guests. None of those basics were ready. When we told the front desk, the two ladies were arrogant and didn’t apologize. They told us to wait until nighttime and said they’d arrange things. We came back after 10 p.m. and not much had changed. We had to go downstairs ourselves for a clean towel, then waited all night for a hair dryer. The next morning, a front desk lady rudely said the whole hotel only had two hair dryers and none were available. I won’t pay a single cent to stay here again. Really disappointing rooms and ridiculous service from the front desk ladies. There were two ladies. I took a photo at the front desk while asking for a hair dryer.

The water heater didn’t work, so I couldn’t get a proper hot shower, which was frustrating after a long day. The public areas were dirty and smelled bad too, making it seem like cleanliness wasn’t a priority anywhere in the property. My room was extremely dirty, with dusty surfaces and a grimy floor, and the strong unpleasant odor never went away. It was uncomfortable to spend time in there. This was a very disappointing stay, and I wouldn’t recommend the place unless they make significant improvements.

We arrived around midnight and used the kiosk to book and check in. There were lots of tiny insects in the room, and no towel. I called, but nobody answered. If you have a better option, don’t pick this hotel.
