New Century Hotel

The TV in room 212 didn't work on our first night. We moved to room 217 for nights two and three, but its TV kept changing channels after about 5-7 minutes. Worse, I caught bed bugs on both nights there. When I showed them to the receptionist, she called them kutu. I attached a photo.

We were left searching for somewhere to stay in Melaka at midnight, when places were fully booked. Our Agoda reservation for two rooms from 27-28 Dec 2025 had already been paid, but on arrival around midnight on 28 Dec we were told there were no rooms because of an “error on Agoda's website.” Neither the hotel nor Agoda had warned us, and no one helped us find another place or offered a refund there. The hotel blamed Agoda, and Agoda blamed the hotel. This was a complete service failure and negligence. Travelers shouldn't be left in chaos after paying for a booking. Avoid it, especially in peak season. I hope management fixes the system before other trips are disrupted.

Parking was hard to find, and the cigarette smell inside was very strong. There are no-smoking signs, yet employees smoke inside the hotel. I wouldn't recommend it.

The bathroom was dirty and had a worm in it, and the room smelled stale. It was also very old and noisy, with the room close to the reception and lobby. The hotel is near a bar and a workshop, and parking at night was difficult. I booked one queen bed and one single, but got three single beds instead.
