DOTA Hotel

The night shift front desk guy was trash. When he saw his customers were foreigners, his face turned angry, like he wanted to bully them. Seriously, I'll never go again. He also charged RM 130 for a room with two single beds, which was overpriced.

We booked two rooms through Agoda for the attractive rates and stayed three days and two nights. They put us in different buildings and on different floors. We accepted that since we mainly needed somewhere to sleep. The rooms were dusty, with paint peeling off the walls. Toothbrushes and toothpaste weren't included, and reception sold them for RM 4. The toilet bowl didn't work properly, so we had to be careful using it. The worst part was staff asking us to open our room because they suspected we'd taken their “cozy air diffuser.” We let them search, they found nothing, and then they left without explaining or apologizing. Poor room conditions, missing basics, and the way they handled that false accusation made this an unpleasant stay. I don't recommend the hotel.

If you're short on budget and have no other option, this hotel is acceptable for 1-2 days. The room is too small, and there's no chiller or hair dryer. An iron is available outside that you can bring to your room. The door doesn't block sound, so you hear people passing and laughing, and kids crying. Parking is limited, first come, first served.

For a budget stay, it's comfortable and cheap, with quite complete amenities for the price. Keep in mind there's no lift. You can mention this to reception before booking, and you can book by phone instead of online, which is easy to communicate. You can borrow a hair dryer from reception with a RM50 deposit, fully refunded when you return it. The toilet cleanliness needs improvement, so I'm taking off one star 🙂.
