I went to a course there with more than 250 people. The hall is spacious and has a huge LED screen, but getting around was difficult: there are only two lifts. Although the stated capacity is 15 people, they could only carry six, so the queues got long and some guests took the stairs. My room had no light in the main area. Only the door light and one bathroom light worked. Breakfast was cold rice soaked in water, which I wouldn’t even call porridge. It was the first time I’d had porridge with such hard rice. Food was served outside the hall, and staff brought out fresh food to replenish it, but there were no plates. When we asked, they refused because they said serving time was over, even though there was still time left. What was the point of putting out more food if nobody could eat it? I don’t know whether management cares about these reviews. I’d seen comments from months earlier, and the same problems were still happening.

The room is spacious, and the price is cheap. Breakfast was reasonable, though there was no cereal for kids and they should provide more fresh milk. It seems fair for a three-star hotel, and works for a short work stay or a stopover. For a holiday, I wouldn’t expect five-star treatment. Overall, reasonable and good.

The room was nice and the AC worked, but at $300 a night the TV didn’t work and there was no room service. That’s overpriced for Ampang. This place has seen better days.

We’re grateful for how kind and considerate the staff were. I was attending a course starting at 2pm with a baby, and my babysitter and baby were supposed to wait in the lobby until check-in. The front officer kindly let the babysitter check in early, at 2.20pm. On the last day, we had our course until 4pm after checkout, and management let us stay until the evening. One suggestion for improvement: during busy periods, guests would benefit from parking in the basement instead of having banquet tables and chairs stored there.

Considering it’s an old hotel, formerly De Palma, I can still give it a pass. The room was comfortable and the shower pressure was strong. Housekeeping were friendly, and even though it was late at night, they brought the extra bed right away. There are lots of facilities nearby too.
