I’m grateful to the cafe staff and the owner’s son, who let me use the freezer and fridge, but the owner treated me terribly. I didn’t stay at the hotel. I was taking a course in the building next door, and as a working mum with a baby at home, I needed to pump breastmilk during the day. There was no fridge where I was working, so I politely asked the cafe staff. They checked with a Chinese man, whom I first assumed was the owner, and he kindly agreed. I put my breast pumps in a sterile ziplock bag in the fridge, as the staff instructed, and left my milk in another sterile ziplock bag with ice packs in the deep freezer. My course ended an hour early. When I returned, I found the bag with my pumps on a table instead of in the fridge. I was told the owner, an elderly lady and apparently the Chinese man’s mother, had thrown it out because she said I was making her fridge dirty. She started shouting at me about putting things in her fridge and freezer, and nearly threw away my breastmilk bags too. I grabbed the milk and ice packs before they could spoil the milk I’d worked hard to pump. She also accused me of putting large round metal items in the freezer. They weren’t mine, and they hadn’t been there when I put my milk in. She kept yelling that I should have stayed home and kept my things there, not in her kitchen. I hadn’t touched any food in the fridge, and the freezer had only ice bags in it, no food at all. I’ve travelled around the world and stayed in many hotels locally and abroad, and never had trouble keeping breast pumps, milk, or ice packs in a hotel cafe before. Other hotels have been kind and helpful. I’m utterly disappointed by how I was treated. If my course hadn’t ended early, she would have thrown away all the milk, which can’t be replaced. I could wash and sterilize the pumps, but not get the milk back. I’m shocked someone could be so heartless. Zero stars for her, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to breastfeeding or pumping mothers. Really bad hospitality.

Both my daughters broke out in rashes all over, including their faces, after one night there. Terrible. We had a room with three single beds for RM180. The heater stayed far too hot even on its lowest setting, and the door lock didn’t work. It did come with a mini refrigerator, a clean wardrobe, a small TV, three towels, three bottles of mineral water, an instant water boiler, and two pillows per bed. The counter staff member was an alert, smart lady who looked to be in her mid-seventies.

I came for NIOSH TRAINING. The facilities were great, and the toilet was clean.

For 170MYR a night, I expected at least basic facilities. The official website said there’d be an electric kettle and minibar, but after checking in I found neither. When I called reception, the staff member asked whether a minibar and kettle were usually included. Damn lousy staff and a bad place to stay. With no minibar, I had to throw away my wife's BF milk, and I had to walk all the way down the corridor for hot water to make milk for the kids and hot coffee. Do you guys really think you know how to run a hotel?

I was here for the NIOSH Tenaga Safety Passport course. The hotel is close by, and NIOSH uses its facilities for courses. Parking inside the compound was easy. I didn’t get to try much beyond the restrooms and training rooms. The training rooms were comfortable for the price.
