The apartment had heavy, humid air, no way to ventilate, dirty air conditioner filters and a moldy bathroom. We contacted the accommodation owner to say we didn’t want to risk our health and wanted to cancel the booking, or hear what they could offer. The pool looked great in the photos but was far from decent in person. From the main entrance to apartment B-7-15, the whole building looked dilapidated and poorly maintained, and the floor was dirty with a moldy smell everywhere. I booked and paid through Agoda for five nights at DCosy Home. Booking this was my biggest mistake. It feels like a big scam on tourists. I’m filing a complaint and asking Agoda for a full refund, and I’m curious to see how they handle it.

We spent 15 minutes here and it wasn’t the mall we expected. This appears to be a residential building, even though it’s categorized as a mall, so that’s why I’m giving it two stars. Residents upstairs might see it differently.

The only real advantage for my attachment is the location right next to the GH. The room setup is basically one unit divided into several studios, with thin partitions. I’m renting a studio here, and staying beside a stranger like that has been a problem. My immediate neighbor has family with them, and the noise makes it hard to sleep. Another neighbor’s alarm keeps going off; it gets to the point where you feel like going over to shut it off. If I had a car and more money, I wouldn’t choose this place.

There isn’t much to bring people to Kozi Square in Kuching beyond FunFactor. It’s quiet with very few people around, and most of the food vendors seem to be struggling. The convenience mart doesn’t look inviting, and the escalator is often out of order, which makes the place feel even duller.

January 2025: All the lifts were broken. November 25, 2023: Finally, the lift was fixed. It’s not a bad place to stay or hang out. October 1, 2023: I know management is trying to improve things, but it feels like they’re making it worse. When you rent a room for a month, there are usually several lifts available, but they close one and leave a long walk to my room. The lifts set aside for us number only two, and sometimes only one is usable. At peak times we might wait around 10 minutes, and if it’s full, we have to wait through another round, over and over. Older post: It’s quite a nice place, with a food court and a playground for adults and youth. But the elevator and parking system need improvement. There’s no mobile signal in the B2 parking area.
