Central Hotel

I left very unhappy and won't be returning. The place feels old, and its unsettling, creepy atmosphere made it hard to relax or get a decent night's sleep.

The staff eventually showed me how to use the self check-in machine, but the way they first handled it was disappointing. As a first-time guest, I was simply pointed toward it with hardly any explanation. That felt unprofessional and lacking in basic customer service. The hotel should make sure staff give clear, polite help, especially to newcomers. It left me with a poor impression of the service at Review Central Hotel.

I checked out as soon as I saw the room and got no refund, though the receptionist did apologize. I found another hotel in Bahau for a similar price and had a much more comfortable rest there. Before reaching the room, the corridor already smelled moldy, and the carpet was dirty and stained. The room looked spacious, with tiled floors, so at first I thought it might be okay. It wasn't: the wall beside the bed had flaky, stained paint, and the bathroom hadn't been cleaned before check-in. There was used shower gel on the window ledge and dried leaves and branches on the toilet floor, which looked like they might be from a bird's nest. Up to that point, parking in the building and the cash check-in had gone smoothly. The receptionist service was good, and neither location nor parking was an issue. Management, please act on genuine customer feedback. I'm not trying to hurt the business, just give paying guests an honest picture of the conditions they’re paying to sleep in.

I came for two nights to hike two hills. The balcony was especially handy, with plenty of breeze to dry our hand-washed hiking clothes quickly. The room and bed layout didn't match the ad photos, although the sheets and pillowcases were clean. There was lots of parking in the mall, so rain wasn't a worry. Housekeeping for the following day has to be requested at the counter. I told the night shift on our first evening, but the request wasn't passed to the morning staff, and we returned from hiking to find the room still messy. I hope management fixes this small communication issue so more guests will come back.
