De Rhu Beach Resort

The park near the pool was a favorite spot for a walk, and the morning view toward the nearby beach was beautiful. There’s plenty to do while staying here, and I think it’s worth trying. The pool was fun and well supervised, with an attentive lifeguard, and the resort is very child-friendly. At meals, the service was excellent, with staff promptly clearing plates. The food was delicious, there was a good variety, and I especially liked the hot teh tarik at breakfast. The room issues, though, really need attention. There was dust on the table and other surfaces, a leaf under my pillow, magazines under the bed, and visible stains on the bathroom sink. I also saw a rat move through the cabinet before disappearing. I told the front desk at checkout. They noted the complaint, but I expected a more reassuring response, such as an apology or confirmation the matter would be taken seriously. I’d seen similar feedback from other guests, which made this more concerning. The stay was pleasant in some ways, and I might consider returning, but I sincerely hope the cleanliness and pest control problems are addressed since they affected the experience significantly.

The best thing was being able to step straight out to the beach and feel the sea breeze. The room was roomy and comfortable, just right for resting during a short getaway. I enjoyed the food too, even though it wasn’t anything fancy. A pleasant, worthwhile break.

The staff treated my family and me politely and courteously from the moment we arrived until we left. I was there for the Ramadan buffet, which cost under RM100 and felt worth the price. There was quite a range of food, including kambing bakar, daging bakar, and gulai kawah.

I enjoyed the quiet atmosphere and the private beach, and there’s a small water theme park too. The hotel is about 20 minutes from the city. The walls could use a scrub to get rid of the old stains.
