Karang Timur Motel

I missed the hotel's scheduled check-in time, so I called its 24-hour front desk. The gentleman who answered was welcoming and patient, and I’m grateful he kept me from being stuck outside late at night. The room itself was frustrating: dated facilities, no toothbrush or hairdryer, poor soundproofing, and visibly worn bedding. I really value a front desk that stays open around the clock. I hate hotels that only give you a four-hour check-in window! Highly recommend nuru tomyam restaurant!

The bathroom layout is so cramped that I wouldn’t come back. We’re both small, so we managed to shower safely, but I doubt someone larger could fit comfortably. I’d put the money toward somewhere more comfortable.

The room was fine for two, with a kettle, Nescafe 3 in 1, cups, and three plug points. There’s also a hot shower, air conditioning, an elevator, an iron and board near the lobby, a water dispenser, towels, and tiny shampoo and bath gel. It’s opposite swiss garden hotel, and you can walk to the beach, though you have to cross a busy main road. A restaurant next door opens around 5 pm, so breakfast and lunch mean driving elsewhere. Parking can be a hassle because the restaurant shares the compound and its customers use the motel's spaces. If your room is near the elevator, people coming and going can be very loud. I wish they’d add some silicone near the door. I couldn’t get a good night’s sleep.
