Pelican Hotel

We stopped here at the last minute while heading south from Ipoh, and check-in went smoothly even though it was after midnight. There was plenty of parking behind the hotel, and the room was basic but comfortable for the price, with a really nice view. It's in the town centre, about 30 minutes from the NS highway. Service was good, though some teenagers talked and made noise in the corridor until after 1 a.m., which was unpleasant.

Although it's rated two stars, this business hotel feels better than that. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with both firm and soft pillows. The TV isn't smart, but the different channels come through clearly. It's by the main road on the edge of Kim's business park center.

Miss farah and miss siti at reception gave very good service. The room and bathroom were clean and tidy.

I paid around RM 200 a night for a room for three, with one queen bed and one single. It's an affordable rate, especially since the hotel is near the bus terminal, Toyota car showroom, and Submit shopping center, all within 1 km, with lots of free parking too. I stayed one night for a vacation. The hotel has eight floors, with reception and a restaurant on the ground floor, and the view from a higher floor is nice since Batu Pahat doesn't have many tall buildings. The room was older, though hygiene was still acceptable. There was no breakfast, swimming pool, or other facilities. It's one of the larger, long-established hotels in Batu Pahat, and it made it through Covid.
