Econtel Queensbay

I only chose Econtel Queensbay because it was near my exam centre. That was the one good thing about the stay. The room smelled bad, and there was visible mould in the toilet. I had to buy mould remover and spray it myself before I could use the area. They also charged RM14 for parking for a one-night stay. This fell far short of what I’d expect from a proper hotel and wasn’t worth the price.

We booked a non-smoking room, but ours reeked of smoke, as if someone had been smoking there less than 2/3hours earlier. Staff did very little, just sprayed a little air freshener. I don’t think they made a real effort to prepare the room or get rid of the smell, and the service was incredibly terrible. Our room was near restaurants that stay active at unsociable hours, and I could hear their beat from inside. The hotel’s condition is honestly sad. I really hope they improve, but until then, please, please, please don’t come here. This place really sucks.

The place next door plays loud music until midnight 2am, so it’s extremely noisy. Don’t stay here if you’re hoping to get any sleep.

Even though we booked a non-smoking room and reminded them, we were given a family room with an awful smoke smell. The counter service was very bad, and they wouldn’t let us change rooms. There’s a live pub very close by. At night it gets terribly noisy, and even after midnight you can still hear the extremely loud bass. It was very hard to sleep well.
