Lexis Suites is close to some good seafood restaurants, and Grab is easy to get in this area. The hotel also has Arabic and Japanese restaurants, plus a rooftop bar. It’s a long way from George Town, but there’s a daily shuttle to Komtar, leaving the hotel at 11 am and returning from Komtar at 9:15 pm. You can also get a seven-day tourist card for RM30 at the Penang Rapid Bus office in Komtar, which works on all their buses. Remember your passport when applying. Breakfast wasn’t as nice as in past years, and it’s expensive.

The staff were all friendly and helpful, and breakfast had lots of tasty options at a reasonable price, RM65 for adults and RM35 for children. Our room was clean, comfortable, smelled fresh, and felt very safe. The pool isn’t too deep, so children can swim there, and there’s family karaoke for some time together. Thanks, Lexis Penang, for the great facilities and service. We’d definitely return and recommend it.

I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve stayed here. The food is great, the rooms are spacious, and there’s a nice pool and sauna. It’s good for kids too, and the hotel crew are friendly. Always a nice experience, and I’ll be back.

The Premium Pool Suite gave us lots of room, two large beds for four people, a balcony pool and steam room, and a huge bathroom with a bathtub overlooking the ocean. Check-in and checkout were easy. The in-room pool was a good size for relaxing with my partner, and its water wasn’t stagnant. The pump seemed to run on a timer or sensor, rather than all day. In my parents’ room it was weak at first, but reception sent someone right away to clear debris from the outlet, and it was fixed within half a day. The 8th-floor main pool is spacious, with staff there to hand out towels. The TV channels worked, the air-conditioning was cold, and the game room, gym, and kids’ room were well equipped. The rooftop bar felt intimate and wasn’t crowded. The Nepalese bartender was especially thoughtful and went out of his way to help us, even though we didn’t spend much. The beach isn’t for swimming, since the hotel is near a fishing village, but seafood lovers have good options nearby. Penang Hai Boey Seafood is a five-minute Grab ride away, Hao You Teluk Kumbar Seafood is a three-minute walk, and Gertak Sanggul Tua Pek Kong Seafood is about an 11-minute drive or Grab ride. The last one does an Omakase-style meal based on the day’s catch. You need to call ahead to reserve. A few things kept this from being a full five stars. The parking ramp is too narrow for MPVs and large cars, and guests should be told in advance. We paid RM20 a day for reserved lobby parking. Complimentary parking for bookings of two or more rooms would be a nice gesture. Housekeeping uses brooms, which stir up dust, so vacuums would be better, especially for guests with allergies. We saw a few Charlie ants in the bathroom, which is understandable near a fishing village. We used a Malaysian-made natural repellent that was safe for kids and eco-friendly, and the ants went away. I gave the bottle to reception because it was affordable and effective. In-room drinks were limited to instant coffee and tea bags, which didn’t feel five-star. Local fruit on arrival and options like hot chocolate or a local nutmeg drink would improve that. Comfortable stay, friendly staff, and I’d return. The hotel has lots of potential.
