The hotel is close to the airport and was good overall, though the first room had a toilet that kept running, so changing rooms took time and was inconvenient. Noise from the center court carried into the room, but it wasn’t too bad when trying to sleep. The airport shuttle van wasn’t available at all on departure day. I’d probably stay again before a morning flight if I got a decent room. The plugs are large three-prong style, and the front desk had only one adapter. They should keep more available.

For one night near the airport, Raia inn was a budget friendly find in Penang. The rooms were spacious and thoughtfully designed, with a pleasant ambience and lovely city views. I expected less at this price, but it was genuinely worth the money. I’d recommend it if you need somewhere close to the airport. Book a cab ahead, though, since many drivers won’t take such a short trip.

Parking inside the hotel is plentiful, and check-in and checkout went smoothly. The room had an iron, ironing board, and smart TV, and the pool was great for kids. Still, the taped flooring looked a bit questionable and ugly. We also had to wait until 7 PM for towels after checking in, something I’ve never had happen at another hotel. It was just okay.

We keep booking this good value hotel at the last minute when my husband has outstation work. The room is spacious, the food is good, and I really like having a smart TV. It’s convenient and comfortable, though the pillows were very uncomfortable. The blackout curtains also leave a gap down the middle that won’t close properly, so morning light gets into the room.

The room and parking area were both spacious, and the cleanliness was satisfactory. It’s about 8 minutes from the airport, a convenient choice if you’re after a reasonably priced stay nearby. You have to ask the front desk for a hair dryer, since there isn’t one in the room. The pillow was a little too high for comfortable sleep, but the stay was acceptable overall.
