The Waterway Villa

With only 25 guests staying at The Glass House on the first day of CNY, our family had a peaceful, private-feeling getaway. It was raining when we arrived at 3:00 PM, and the staff welcomed us with umbrellas. Their service stayed excellent throughout. After checking in, we had afternoon tea with banana fritters, popia, and especially good Musang King cendol. Our first room, below the manager's unit, had air conditioning and plumbing problems. The staff quickly moved us to a larger unit with a lovely front yard. The pool stays open until night, and the water slide was fun. Having three meals a day included made the price worthwhile. I’m grateful to Mr. Sukari, who found my husband's wallet and brought it back to our room in the rain. He wouldn’t take a reward, saying it was his responsibility as a staff member. The rest of the staff were kind and friendly too. The calm atmosphere and beautiful views made the stay relaxing.

The bamboo villa was unique, clean, and well equipped, apart from not having an iron. Soundproofing was almost nonexistent, so it depended on how noisy your neighbours were. Breakfast and dinner were included, and adequate for us. A buggy was available for touring the area and going to the river. The river wasn’t pristine, but it was still great. We had a good experience.

A really relaxing place. Tea time was more like a full lunch, with noodles, local kuih, popia, fruit like banana and papaya, kedondong juice, and more.

A holiday package here includes breakfast, lunch, tea, and dinner, with time to rest and recreate. It’s a good quiet escape from the city. You can buy durians in all the favourite varieties at wholesale prices, either to eat there or take away. The kedondong (ambra) juice with meals is great. The villa also offers a jeep tour up its scenic estate to the highest point, overlooking the valley and Genting highland across it. There are 4000 durian trees, along with bananas, pineapples, kenongdongs, and avocados grown for in-house consumption.
