Ria Cameron Hotel

We stayed with my family in room 107, which has a bunk bed. The windows let in good airflow, though at night we could hear road noise and people chatting downstairs. The bunk bed wobbled a little, but we slept fine. There were three power outlets in total, including two by the top bunk, which was handy. The Wi-Fi worked well, and the password was on the room key. The reception uncles were really friendly, and even let us choose the room we felt most comfortable with before booking. I've never had that at another three-star hotel. Their hospitality deserves a big thumbs up. The room itself was clean, but the toilet needs maintenance, the floor tiles are a bit moldy and need a scrub, and the ceiling looked like it might fall soon. The hotel is right across from a clinic, less than a minute's walk, which is useful if you're unwell with a fever or food poisoning. There are other budget hotels around, so it's not completely quiet, though it wasn't too noisy either. The mosque is about a three-minute walk away. There weren't many restaurants open nearby, so we walked toward Star Regency Hotel and had dinner at a Malay tomyam place. If you're coming to Cameron Highlands for the first time, be aware that this hotel, like most budget options around here, doesn't have air conditioning. The cool highland air was enough for us, so they leave the windows open. We didn't have any mosquitoes during our stay, which was a relief.
