The Pines @ Fraser's Hill

The big porch has enough space for a large tent, and I got lucky when I went out to stargaze around 5:00 AM and saw a green meteor. I couldn't capture it, but it was a priceless moment. The Pines @ Fraser’s Hill feels like a peaceful place to disconnect, with cool mountain air, lake views, and no excessive modern development like Genting or Cameron Highlands. It feels natural and uncommercialised, and is great value for money. Digi & Celcom had some network issues, while Hotlink / U Mobile worked better for me. Nearby, there's a food court with standard pricing. I wouldn't mind paying a little more in a tourism area. There aren't chain cafes or restaurants, but the food court stalls do sell brewed coffee. There are scenic lake and mountain views and around 5 hiking trails nearby. After 10 PM it gets very quiet, with no bars or nightlife. Jeriau Waterfall is highly recommended. The walk alongside a flowing river has the Fraser’s Hill vibe, and ends at the waterfall. The entrance fee is very minimal, and Jabatan Perhutanan maintains the area well. On the way up or down, stop at Empangan Sungai Selangor Viewpoint for an outstanding view. I wanted to keep this place to myself, but the receptionist kindly asked me to leave a Google review. I'd definitely return to this underrated spot to slow down, reset, and enjoy nature without too much modern noise.

I felt so bad staying here. The facilities are very old, with no hot water and no faucet, and I had no choice but to stay the night. The place looked so different from the hotel photos. Please check your room before booking. I regret this for the rest of my life.

It feels more like an apartment, with lots of space, a great view, and a very chilly atmosphere. The staff were friendly and all the facilities worked. The room preparation needs more care.

We wanted to have coffee before heading down, but the café wasn't open. The front desk staff were friendly. It would be great if the café were open during peak hours.
