The room was comfortable, and the staff were polite, friendly, and helpful. I had a generally pleasant stay, but the food and payment arrangements took away from it. Room service food was just okay, breakfast had few choices and wasn’t very good, and at Think Cup the coffee was too sweet with barely any coffee taste for the price. The muffin was dry and bland, almost like paper, even though the view there was lovely. The biggest hassle was that room service and the lakecruise and bicycle attractions took cash only, with no QR or card option. The RM100 cash deposit also wasn’t mentioned clearly ahead of time. It would help to list it on Agoda and other booking sites so guests can plan. Check-in could use more staff too, and there should be more staff and buggy or van pick-ups and drop-offs at Kampung Air, since waits can be long. Better food and drinks at Think Cup would help as well.

I come by about once every three months. It’s a nice spot for an evening walk, and I usually have tea and pick up a snack or small meal.

My family and I had a great time at Bukit Merah Laketown Zoo. The kids especially loved being able to feed some of the animals. There’s a good mix, including deer, monkeys, reptiles, and lots of birds, and the grounds are clean and spacious. The paths are easy to walk, with shaded places to take a break. Staff were helpful and friendly, and the tickets seemed reasonably priced. Some enclosures could use a little upkeep, and midday gets hot, so mornings are a better time to visit. It was a fun, memorable family outing.

There are lots of activities at this resort. Bukit merah lake is man-made, and in the dry season the water drops and looks muddy. Hopefully rain keeps the water level up and the lake clean.
