Sri Gate Hotel

The room was very clean and had a table and chair. They also provided a big bottle of water, and you can refill from filtered hot or warm water at reception. The staff were friendly, and they let me keep my bicycle inside, which is handy for cyclists. The location is excellent, as are the WiFi and AC. The shower had strong water pressure and hot water. Walk-in rates start at 60 rim without AC (50+10 tax) or 75 rim with AC (65+10 tax).

The location is good, around 800 metres from the bus drop-off, with food, convenience stores, and fast food nearby. There's free WiFi, local TV channels, a working aircon and water heater, and strong water jets. Drinking water can be refilled at the station near reception. The rooms looked clean, but don't leave food out. We had cockroaches, including one drinking milk from our glasses, which freaked us out. A food packet had been bitten into. Also, reception takes a picture of your IC for check-in, so bring your own cancelled photocopy.

It's not a five star hotel, but it's convenient if you just want a place to sleep while having a bit of leisure. My room had an odd setup: when I lay on the bed, the TV was on the wall to my left, so I had to watch it from the other side. It's actually a shop house, so you can't expect much, but it was worth it. Parking requires a coupon, 60 sen per hour.

I paid RM45 for a 24-hour stay, booking after 12 noon, which worked out really well for a solo traveler on a budget. I was there one night in a room without air conditioning, and it was still nicely set up and pretty cool, maybe because of the weather.
