Grand Ion Delemen Hotel

We paid MYR667(~USD167) for one night in a 3-bedroom suite at grand ion delemen hotel. For a unit that can sleep up to 9 people, it felt like decent value. The rooms were spacious and looked like the photos, and reception staff were friendly and helpful at check-in and with directions. Cleanliness was the big problem. The pillowcases had old saliva stains and hair from previous guests, the floor was sticky, and there was an unpleasant smell, like the apartment hadn’t been aired or used for a while. Bedroom and kitchen cabinets were dusty or dirty too, so it didn’t feel like housekeeping had cleaned properly before we arrived. They provided basic toiletries, but no shampoo or hand wash, so bring your own. Mineral water was free. Wi-Fi wouldn’t connect at all, the toilet basin had visible cracks, and despite being on the 17th floor, our unit had no mountain view. The water heater needed about 45 minutes to warm up, then the hot water lasted only around 30-60 minutes. With 9 people sharing, showers were a hassle while we waited for it to reheat. Good value for a large group, but the cleanliness, maintenance, and basic amenities need work.

We really appreciate Mr Zakir searching high and low to find us a room for one night. When we arrived at "10mins to Genting Highlands Hotel," we couldn’t check in and couldn’t locate the agent, even by 10pm. We thought we might have to sleep in the lobby. Mr. Zakir ( Grand Ion Delemen Hotel ) helped us find a room. The "10mins to Genting Highlands Hotel" had asked us to transfer a rm$200 deposit to his Malaysia account because we’re foreign and not local. We weren’t familiar with doing that, and I think it may be a loophole or trap. We called many times, and Zakir also tried to call, but the agent was uncontactable. We "lost" 2 nights of our stay at Genting. Watch out for this "10mins to Genting Hotel" and don’t fall into this TRAP! Thank you so much, Mr Zakir. God bless you.

The view was pretty, and the place was spacious, cool, and clean. I booked through Airbnb, hosted by Lim. There are minimarkets downstairs and restaurants too, though they’re a bit pricey. A shuttle bus runs every hour to Genting RSW, which made getting back and forth easy. You can also take Grab.

The hotel is luxurious and cool, and the hill location is nice, though be mindful of driving at high altitudes. The service was poor. They charged RM5 for a simple water refill and RM150 for a bed. The housekeeping button didn’t work, and the water hose sprayed everywhere. Parking and check-in were complicated. The staff were friendly, but not attentive every time. I’d rate the hotel 2.7.
