Ar-Raudhah Service Apartments

We slept well on the comfortable mattress, and the three-bedroom apartment was affordable for our family of five to seven. It’s right in the Georgetown UNESCO area, about 50 metres from Street of Arts. You can rent a bicycle for RM8 a day. There’s no TV, which was fine by me since Wi-Fi is free. Good value for money.

For fancy backpackers staying in Penang, this is a decent pick. The three-bedroom apartment was cheap and surprisingly well kept, and you can walk to lots of places from its central Georgetown location. Just know that every room has single beds, the main bedroom doesn’t have an attached toilet, and there’s no elevator. Carrying a lot of stuff up to the third floor would be a pain.

It’s clean and handy for Penang Street Art, with Komtar and Upside Down Museum within walking distance. The facilities inside are very basic, though. The kitchen and bathroom pipes didn’t work properly, and the toilet flush was like one in a public restroom. The view also didn’t look as striking as the ad suggested.

We spent three nights at Ar-Raudhah Hotel in Penang. The courtyard’s beautiful art exhibition was a highlight, and the apartments were clean and well cared for. The hotel sits centrally in Georgetown, and the staff were very friendly. Breakfast isn’t provided, but there are several options nearby.
