Coffee Atelier

Street food and other parts of Georgetown are easy to reach on foot from Coffee Atelier, which made the location perfect for us. Our suite was clean and comfortable, with nicely decorated rooms that gave us a pleasant feeling of going back in time. The air-conditioning and WiFi both worked perfectly, and the bathroom was spacious. Ruby welcomed us warmly and was always glad to help with sightseeing tips. Breakfast was included in our room rate and freshly made: scrambled or fried eggs, sourdough and toast with butter, cornflakes or muesli, yoghurt or fresh fruit, orange juice, and black coffee or tea. We had a lovely stay with friends. One thing to know is that the stairs to the first-floor suite are narrow and steep, which could be awkward with heavy suitcases or mobility issues. If I remember correctly, there are also suites downstairs.

Our ground-floor suite at Coffee Atelier had a study, bedroom, and outdoor courtyard with a garden area, plus toilet and shower cubicles. It was spotless, well equipped, and filled with beautiful furniture. Ruby gave us a warm welcome and was helpful throughout. Breakfast next door at Christoph's was a treat. The place is original and quaint, the sort of hotel that stays in your memory. A true gem.

We felt safe walking everywhere from Coffee Atelier, which is well placed in China Town near Little India. Breakfast was nice, and the bed was super comfortable. Our upstairs suite had two bedrooms and one large bathroom, with air-conditioning that worked very well. The building is clean, well kept, and beautifully painted. A very nice woman runs the place with help from her sister. My friend and I loved it and would highly recommend it.

Ruby, the manager, was lovely and a great help. We stayed downstairs in a fantastic room, tastefully furnished with thoughtful touches for travelers. It's in an excellent spot in the old part of Penang.
